She reads books at 1 am

Writes poetry of her ex

Ecalades with her fears and smiles at her folly

Like a child watching her cartoon end

Like a chimney with a dying fire

So much for her sad skin

And for her desperate laughter

The likes of which crawled down your spine

Because she missed her sadness

Because she missed her lover

And the taste of loneliness

Because her heart had pounded

The size of a seismic wave
This isn't the land of opportunity, it's the land of competition.
