If not for British soldiers,
I'd still be speaking Irish.

Stand mute: they come
to liberate your tongue.

    AH. Fins. Though this is one of the shorter pieces, I happen to have an affinity for it. If you may consider, here in los estados unidos americanos:

    If not for the French I may be speaking... French. If not for the British soldiers, I may be speaking English. If not for our Masonic obsession concerning freedoms within freedoms, we may in fact be speaking latin writ, with an anglo twist...

    and a lot less slang in the midst. :)
