I was looking at the light shining on large orange and blue berries growing from a climbing green leafy plant along a red brick wall. I was fascinated. Then a hand with long slender fingers plucked my fruit.I glanced along the arm before me and beheld the most beautiful woman with cascading goldenbrown hair, a kindly face, and penetrating sapphire eyes. I wanted to reach out and touch her hair but she moved before me and headed in long gliding bejewelled skirts across the courtyard into the grand doored entrance of a stately house in front of us. She turned around to me, beckoning me to follow her in. I did, through corridor after corridor; through which I beheld doubles of myself and her, in separate attitudes, in false embraces with others but glancing across at one another. The first room was in black and white as were our doubles, only we and our fruit were colour; gradually as we passed from room to room colour spread from us and the fruit to the room around. Room to room seemed to plunge us deeper into the future; we grew older than the present, yet we walked closer together until we reached our final room, lit in dancing golden candle light. We rested together on a couch of gold, and the beautiful woman with golden hair and sapphire eyes looked into my eyes and said "When you solve this riddle I will give you my beautiful fruit, and then I will give you myself, the prize of my life."
