Sun So Good Gonna Shave My Happy Face

Well, I wake up this morning - I ain't got the blues -
just the freshwater blue cascades!
And I'm watching the sun with its orangey hues
as the last of the nightcloud fades
somebody's testing an engine outside
somebody cycles at pace
and I can't help but smile as I stretch my arms wide
and I'm feeling like shaving my face

I'm feeling like shaving my face, my friends
I'm feeling like shaving my face
The sun's warming up! I'd love some of its grace
And I'm feeling like shaving my face

I've grown a big beard and it's curly and brown
But it catches fair share of my dinner
I'm quite proud of the way that it's filled as it's grown
and I might say most beards are much thinner
but with the sun warming my window right now
and streaking my keyboard with orange
I feel that it's time that the orb's happy glow
kissed from chin to cheeks, bathing on more range!!!!!!!!

I'm feeling like shaving my face, my friends
I'm feeling like shaving my face
The sun's warming up! I'd love some of its grace
And I'm feeling like shaving my face

I am reminded of Shel Silverstein at his best.

And I mean that as a high compliment Fins.

Nice work. I don't do whimsical well... I am glad that you do.

    Hope the suds come clean.

I'm stepping in front of the gushing hydrant in a hurricane. I'd like to see the traction I keep.

Did you know that "Moll Flanders" was originally published in 27.5 octavo gatherings, unbound, signatured: A7, B-Dd8, Ee4, on 27th January 1722 by W. Chetwood and T. Edlin? I didn't either until today. Can't say me life's much enriched for it, LOL! Oh, the joys of studying bibliography...anybody got any poetry for me? I'm sitting here surrounded by useless information! C'mon: submit Anything: the sillier the better!

  • I shall sleep in a dream of bearded eggs
and I shall nod sagely at nice crepiscules
    and say today-oh, girl,
I am more in love with my jewel
than any shepherd in love with red light on the downs and the lo-ing of little ones born in the meadows
I am so in love with my jewel
and I shall awake with my pillow a superhighway to the stars
where her spirit has lain beside me
