An Elegy to Elegies

And now new woods soar fast and grown
upon our bog of stone,
our plain of precious loss, gale blown:
our days of cold are done.

And now thick trees set broad and bold
upon our reedrush field
block pastward roads. We're told our old
lamenting ways should yield.

We cannot see the mountain now
upon our land where slow,
Godbreezed nothingness would blow
more than a leafy show.

    Very well done Finns...yet somehow..I wish my days of cold were done!
    (Weatherwise, that is as well.I want to move to the island of Maui,Hawaii so bad!)
    I know you meant it in a most different way..but I have a one-set frame of mind.
    To me it sets a quite political precedence.

    Thanks, Ali. I hear the crater on Maui can be windy too. But what energy! Hendrix once played a gig right in the centre of that.

    Get outta here!He did!I haven't even been to Hawaii yet...I just want to be the first woman to live, breathe, and fully-function amphibiously along the coast of Hawaii or out West!Its either Hawaii or San Deigo,California for me.

    Yep, Jimi played the "Rainbow Bridge Vibratory Colour-Sound Experiment" right in the heart of the Haleakala Crater in Maui, on July 30th 1970. It was his penultimate US gig.And it was filmed too.

    Go west, dear Ali! Get some of that sun! I heard Seattle WA hit 75 degrees the other day. :cool:

    Finns...I'm supposeed to move with my family in 3 years to arizona (if I dont hack off their legs first in a fit of domestic rage)but I was thinking about just saving up the cash and moving to San Diego CA.Then again Eddie vedder lives in Seattle and I wouldnt mind bumping into him once in a while to practice my stand-up routine.But...forget Eddie...the weather is nicer in California!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I'd pick California too. I'd re-write "Outshined": "I'm lookin' Californiaaaaaaa/ and feelin', er, Californiaaaaaaaaaaa." :D:D:D
