When you get up to a certain age of mind, my friend
Armageddon’s just an everyday thing
When you get up to a certain age of mind, my friend
Armageddon’s just an everyday thing
And the ones you leave behind won’t really mind The End
If there’s chance to jump this hellfire ring
Yeah, when you get up to a certain age of mind, my friend
Armageddon’s just an everyday thing

All your days you’ll see these people with their blazey big eyes
They’ll speak of passion with a capital P
Yeah, all your days you’ll meet with people, see their blazey big eyes,
Their fashion’s passion with a capital P
They say that living like a razor might cut gold dust from the skies
You’ll tell ‘em love springs from the ground, they won’t agree
All your days you’ll see the crazies with their blazey big eyes
Shining passion with a capital P

When you wake up in the morning and the clouds hang black
Just know, you see far better when the days are like these
Yeah, when you wake up in the morning and the clouds hang black
Just know, you see far better when the days are like these
And you learn to love the sunshine when it ever ventures back
You look for light behind the mantle of ill-ease
When you wake up in the morning and the clouds hang black
Just know, you see far better when the days are like these.

    Really enjoyed reading this
'Shining passion [verb/noun?] with a capital P' describes the crazies v. succinctly, and also gives me more of a handle on my own crazy tendencies.
That whole barren glitz of living every day as though it were the last: no one ever has the courage let alone stamina to make of a that a viable way of life. When did living in simple contemplation from one year to the next become outlawed?
Anyhow thanks, and here's to the sunshine beyond that horizon / behind those clouds!

Haha, I wrote that thing in the bath this morning. I didn't have the kazoo with me at the time, of course. :)

    I like it! :)
(It's very simple compared to what you usually write.)

Thanks, Pasta. I got the guitar out and sang along to this, and found one or two places where the rhythm needed tweaking. So this is the finished version here:

That encapsulates a lot and flows real well. It seems to be an example of one of those moments when you realise something when you've got the time to think..... like in the bath! or walking or before you sleep. And it seems very clear. You going to record it?? did you get tickets for Dublin? I didn't go for dublin in the end, went for Prague and hope to get verona. Have a blast if you did.

good to know you did not have your electric guitar in the bath while you wrote this fins. i bet the wash board was loud.

needs a bit of banjo, eh?
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

I really like this. I would love to hear it as a song. And I agree with olerman, it could use a bit of banjo :) I've actually heard some really good bush bands and I think that I could hear them playing this.

Yep. I think you know how this will sound, chord wise. A little in that shuffle beat ragtime mode, similar to, say, "Alice's Restaurant" or something from Dylan's "Love And Theft" album. That's the feel I want. I can play it on guitar, but yes, a banjo would be lovely. Maybe a jazz violin too. Line six of each verse could do with some ascending diminished chords, you know, old time! :)

    We will all be dead,
    may the deserters go down
in angel dust of agent orange?
Or will they really lay behind
to live such a pleasant life?
    I guess it's something they just don't
    care to explore.
    A whisper and a thrill
    A whisper and a chill

    I agree with Pacifier...good read :)
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!

I really like it :) In my head though I heard it as going a lot faster than that. good stuff.

Hi, I liked it a lot too, pretty gutsy just putting it out vocals only but it works well. I don't think it needs too much more but would be interested to hear it with some simple guitar or something. liked the blue and feather (?) pic for it too.
    Salut baloo
