A new song, "Lighter Times"

It's a cheery little ditty, which I'll record in a bit for you to hear. It's nothing too deep, just a bit of fun and more of a singalong than anything else:

Lighter times put out of mind
Were when we thrived, in play
Fun and games we end, for gain.
Mean more than reason’s way.

On the west of the city, not far from the sound,
Tim muddies his knees as he crawls up a mound.
His voice pipes as high as a warbler trill:
“Follow me pilgrims, to Energy Hill.”

Sandy and Jenny climb, laughing, behind.
The sunset’s a bootstrap that loves to unwind.
Their hair blows a sky glow, a firey spill.
“We follow you master, to Avalanche Hill.
We follow you master, to Avalanche Hill.”

Lighter times put out of mind
Were when we thrived, in play
Fun and games we end, for gain,
Mean more than reason’s way.

From the peak, there’s the city, a river, a sea:
In dusk, man’s a mist that’s as faint as a flea.
Now see, a moon valley!, a clear, shimmering rill.
“Let’s keep up a night watch, from Providence Hill.”

Tim, Sandy and Jenny lay down in a ring
The Plough leads them skyward, above everything
The stars are in motion, the stars are all still
At one with the silence- on Rocket Launch Hill.

Lighter times put out of mind
Were when we thrived, in play
Fun and games we end for gain
Mean more than reason’s way .

See your life, from the hill!
See your life, from the hill!

You say, back to the day job, back to the grind
But thanks for a moment spent out of the mind.
Well, you find mind in play, so return if you will,
Again to the three on Frivolity Hill.

See your life, from the hill!
See your life, from the hill!
See your life, from the hill!
See your life, from the hill!

Er, there shouldn't be a full stop at the end of line three. It should be a comma. Fook it, never mind. :)

What the heck are those three doing up there? Tim seems like a lucky guy. :)

Still working on this! I've worked out how to make the lo-fi sound almost hi-fi, so, when this is done I'll let ya know.

these recordings must be a blast to create.

    thanks fins

i like the long outro. it's still playing. the fading music is cool.

i suggest you record a small bit of the vocal part without percussion. just for grins. of course, you may also tell me fuck off. :D:D
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

    Cheers, everyone!

I'm just going to take it down for a few minutes, and put a tweaked version up. I sorted out all those exploding p sounds, on the vocal track.

Cheers to you, Richard, and thank you. It's downloading right now. How many of these megauploads do you have out there? I wouldn't mind burning a CD, if possible.
