    Emerson is a great read; however, if you can't handle him, maybe Dr. Seuss is more your speed.

    this is located on the inside flap of my journal . . . just give me the word, and I shall cross it out. Again, I don't want to come off as being elitist. Be honest, but nice.

    A pithy little discourse on two famous Homers might work better. ;)

    Youre usually about 4 gears ahead of most on here with your knowledge of literature, people on that site are the same.

    Thanks! I could use the information. I saw a McDonald's commercial for their Indy Stock Car Racing Team, and they displayed a quote of RWE's at the end . . . I wanted to vomit! Using his words and his name to promote a "hero" who wastes a natural resource for a trophy, and for an outfit that sells slop to the masses????!!!! How heroic!

    McDonalds is eveel.

    That site will whip your ass.
    People arent nice always, but its the critique that we all need to grow as writers, or whatever we do.
    Its humbling on there, but productive.

    Im a compulsive self- improver.

    I pout for a few minutes and then go "They were right! It IS a piece of utter, useless crap."

    There's no substitute for getting involved in a real writers' group or class, if you can, though. Are there many in your area?

    Ive done a few workshops.
    The online ones are nice when you dont have the time or inclination.

    I'm looking to take the poetry back up soon. I've taken a break to concentrate on fiction, but I'll probably be reflexing the poetry muscles on here before long.
