    It would be such a novelty for me to live somewhere where it snowed! This morning my place was 21°C inside (about 70°F) and my dog started demanding the heater be turned on (she starts running back and forth towards the heater and makes little "aroo" sounds). Goodness knows what she'd be like if we lived in a cold climate.

    That is so cute that your pup was cold this morning! Poor little thing! i'm really sick of winter. It should be starting to warm up here. Oh well.... Maybe I need to move to Australia. Hubby wanted to try to move to Canada a few years ago. I said no flipping way!!! Too cold for me!

    She's a manipulative little dog ;) , when it was 25°C the other day she still wanted the heater on. I should just stick a photo of Eddie onto the heater...that would warm up any house instantly ;) .

    It was cold in Vancouver when I visited last year...you'd definitely need to stock up on winter clothes to live there!

    Maybe you need to buy a chicken brooder lamp Emma. I had a cat that used to love lay under one until her fur was hot, and then she would move to a cool spot until she cooled back down and then back to the lamp. :roll: :lol:

    Ocean,
    Those incubation lamps rock! We used to hang them above
    our horse stalls during winter show seasons! It kept the barns
    Warm.. Which kept the horses from getting all furry!
    It was kinda funny for the English Hunt horses though!
    Cause we'd just clip around the edges of the Saddle line..
    So they were short haired ALLL over save for where the saddle
    Sat. So they'd have just this one fuzzy patch across their backs!!
    It looked really funny!

    :lol::lol::lol: At 9 or 10 I inherited a couple of Welsh ponies, a mother and daughter set. They used to get really fuzzy in winter. The mother thought she was a lap dog and would get really perturbed if she was ignored. As a prepubescent girl, I loved to jump on her bare back with a book in my hand, and lay back with my head on her rump and read while she grazed. 8-)

    What time of year were you in Vancouver? I find that is one of the mildest parts of Canada (aside from Vancouver Island), so if it was cold it might have been unseasonable. If it was too cold for ya though I'd definitely say avoid southern Ontario! When it's not freezing it's snowing (or both!). We had a cold spell for a couple of weeks this winter where it was -30 C. Horrible!! So ready for springtime :)
