A family member of mine just started cancer treatment a few days ago, so I understand how you feel. It is treatable, but the treatment is full-on so the next few months won't be easy.

A family member of mine just started cancer treatment a few days ago, so I understand how you feel. It is treatable, but the treatment is full-on so the next few months won't be easy.

here's the thing.. in 2005 he waS diagnosd with liver cancer.. so he moved to Colorado to be closer to the University of Denver which has an awesome Oncology research program. They removed nthe half of his liver withnthe moast Cancer in it...where upon the discovered that nhe also had it in his Pancreas.. he refusednto have THAt REMOVED, so they did treatments.. it had been.. what's nthe qword..it's not in remission, just slowed? so when he went nin earlier this week for nthe GI bleed, again during surgery, they discovered the spread of the Cancer. Our family has bveen discussing what we're going to do..suddenly nhis grudge against my older sister is null and void, and nw he nwants her to move out here from Joplin Mo, to be closer to him.
I know rthis sounds bad, but for my dad to let a grudge go, means, he knows it's almost over..this is what scares me..he doesn't just give up..he's gone through alot in nhis life, and for this to come up now is taking its toll. My brother and nhis family are flying out this week, and we'll all talk more then.. but seriously.. what else??? My younger sister says for me to still plan to go to Wrigley.. but what if I'm off seeing PJ and he dies???? I'm so torn.. AND SO CONFUSED.. thank you all for your support, cause I have nowhere else to turn..

Oh honey! I'm thinking of you! So sorry to hear about your poor papa . . . Whatever happens, I hope this time you still have with him is special and loving and memorable. And even though it's a kind of sign, the fact that his grudge has softened is itself a positive thing - for all of you. Hopefully he'll be around for much longer, but at least he's making things right in the family, he's healing old wounds. This could be a really beautiful time for you all (sad and emotional of course, but still beautiful).

Is Wrigley 4 months away? Can you think about it a bit closer, or do you need to book flights etc? I'd be inclined to keep your tix and reassess closer to the date. Pearl Jam is your soul food, which you will no doubt desperately need by then. But of course it might be more complicated than that with money, flights etc. In any case, i'm thinking of you and sending lots of love and strength and everything good xoxoxoxoxo

And PJForceofNature did I read that your surgery went well? Very happy to hear that possum! I hope you're taking good care of yourself and watching lots of movies and eating ice-cream! And that your body is healing nicely and all is well I find that Javier Bardem movies help me quite a bit when I'm recovering from an illness

We are all here for you even if we are somewhat in the shadows these days. Just call out for some veddicine or whatever other help you need and we will step out. Thank you so much, Ms Nelly! The surgery did go very well, and yes, I've been eating lots of ice cream and watching lots of movies-will have to try Javier! I want to thank all my PJ friends for their love and support and prayers-I know that was a big part of what helped me get through the surgery!
And of course, all those lovely pics of our Eddie!!

Thanks. It really was wonderful to escape for a couple of days, despite the cold, wind, and the "breezy" outhouse. My legs are sore from tramping up and down the side of the mountain in 8+ inches of snow. Other than getting to be here and getting to see these great posts, it really kind of sucks to be back. And I really thought the pic you would like best was this one.
