i went out tonight,
with the rain all above me,

my ex.
i felt nothing.
i had a bad time
i felt as though I couldnt laugh
at your senseless jokes,
or feel sorry for you
when you said,
"fuck that bitch."
You see,
there's no more time
in my life
for obscenitites and vulgarity.
Theres no more time
for the love we had.
I couldnt wait to go home,
make some popcorn,
smoke a cigarette,
listen to Pearl Jam,
and talk to myself about love.
Maybe it wasn't you.
Maybe it was all my wrong doing.
Maybe it's just me.

There's so many times I've told myself I can live through any awkwardness with ex's and just have a good time with someone I genuinely liked before we had something more than friendship, but we always erect those barriers, and it's never the same. Sorry you had a bad night.

Tahnks..I do have eddie right now and Binaural and a smoke..but if I see any more alcohol and reminisce about party nights after tonight...I'll heave - ho.:)

how weird, my ex asked me to go out last night too (he always does this in between girlfriends).

but i've started predicting the endings of evenings with him and i finally said no.

hey ali, that's great. i know how you feel i think. sometimes it's better to stay at home and have fun alone. i mean, really, you save on gas.

and my ex is my current. we recycle. (hahaha) we've got the best/ worst relationship on earth, oh well. we're going to get very old and cranky together before one of us snaps, i know it. (can't you see the way the tree bends, stretching out to inspire? that's one of his favorite lines)

sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

i hit the road when it gets bad, but he's a trooper. i mean superdooper. i wish i was as good as he.
