I HAVE A MILD OBSESSION WITH THE SEA.
I WANT TO RIDE THE WAVES,
PADDLING OFFSHORE,
LEASH ABOUNDING,
LETTING THE CURRENTS DRIFT ME
AMONGST THE SEAWEED,
THROUGH THE FLOATING DRIFTWOOD.
I WILL THEN RETURN,
LATER THAT NIGHT,
WITH YOU,
MY LOVE,
MY SEA,
AND LET MY FEET WET THEMSELVES
IN YOUR TIDAL POOLS
AS THE SUN GOES DOWN,
LEAVING AN ORANGE GLOW
UPON YOUR BLUE-GREEN BODY.
FOR THIS REASON,
I HAVE A MILD OBSESSION WITH THE SEA.

the good thing about the sea, is that there is so much of it.....it has a different character everywhere.....take the beaches of Colombo with their lazy elephants lumbering along the coastal roads, or the nooks and crannies of the Portuguese coast......the sea is so beautiful.....but, like a mistress, it can get very angry......the sea is a woman.....temperamental and moody.....what a glorious life we live......I like your peom Ali, I remember arriving in Gran Canaria at night, and getting the bus to the pensione, and then crossing some streets after we dropped off our bags, and going to the beach with the magical moonlit sea.....or even Manly beach here in Sydney a few years ago after my brother and I had eaten a Thai meal.....I just feel so connected to the sea, but I'm afraid of waves......but without the sky, the sea would be nothing......just a boring lake - it's the stars and the moon, and sometimes a bit of humidity which really complement it......the sea is fukkin crazy man.....
....they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......

and the gulf coast too -- where everything is so hot and thick

and quicksand (I stepped in it once and almost lost my dog, up to my knee in quicksand and my dog went down too. I didn't even know quicksand really, really existed; you never do until half your leg and your dog is in it.)

I like the same part groove did. That's two votes for the ending! Oh, wait, no it's not the exact same part, it's that part, and

    FOR THIS REASON,
I HAVE A MILD OBSESSION WITH THE SEA.

I just went back to the message pit and looked at it, and thought, hmmmm . . . what does the poet have an obsession with?
