Ode To Seasonal Trailer Trash

Nothing can beat trailer trash
As clear as a spring day
With the taste of summer's locals
Coming out to play

The winter's finally over
The springtime has just begun
The weekend warriors have taken over
The party begins with one

The bonfires down the bay
The rendevous in the backseats
The surfboards out and ready
The beer and thirsty treats

I may only be there for summer
But one day I'll call the shore my home
I've seen it all and done it all
My name is surely known

So for trailer trash,I'd like to say
YOU FUCKING ROCK MY NIGHTS AND DAYS
I would live in my trailer all the time
But for now....home is quite a mile aways....!

(ANYONE ELSE LOVE CAMPING?)
A whisper and a thrill
A whisper and a chill

true as blue skies and misty morning beauty,
the foot hills of the alleghany mountains,
    no surf..
    just turf..

and talking to the local folk,
    high on nascar danger,
    at the time was localized,
    ahhhhhhhh but what a blast,
    from the past,
    the mountains,
    the fountains,
    wanton abandon,
drown me with the luxury that is youth...

    it's nothing as it seems,
the little that is seen... is gone

i like your poem ali so i wrote another with some connection.. camped in west virginia when i was a lad in 1965 (date not conclusive, but close enuff!!)
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

I like your poems. I used to go camping in the desert, once a year when I was at school. We buried our biodegradable trash in the sand and took anything else with us in the back of 4x4s.

I've only been camping once in europe or anywhere else. Can't say I'm mad about it.

I forgot, been camping at music festivals as well four days three nights. Not wilderness but dangerous animals were present. I'm 26 already have a dodgy back and whilst I don't mind smelling of greasy bacon I don't go looking for it. :)
