Death Blue

It comes into the room,
unwelcomed.
Days it takes,
for it to walk in the door,
and grab you by the hand.
The doctors come,
reaching into you,
feeding you frenzied pills-
unused alchemy.
Nothing helps,
its just your time.
What do you have to leave behind?
(A family, a legacy.)
What will you take with you?
(No one has ever come back to tell.)

A promenade into the neverending realm,
the woman dies with a smile on her face.

What does she know
about the blue skies that we don't?
A whisper and a thrill
A whisper and a chill

....they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......

    saying goodbye
that's apparently part of a good death
I heard that in a church once
    sitting on a piano bench
    waiting for the next song
    and I've remembered it
    thought about it
    believed it
    maybe someone with a family
    and friends
and a last chat or loving words
    can die happy
    I'd like to believe it
