The Philosophy Thread

It was a hard,
wet rain.
My adult obsession-
playing in the rain.
It poured down in hard layers
sifting through my hair
and I couldnt do anything but laugh
Wearing a skirt of sorts-
tight blue striped shirt
body parts pertruding.
Did it rain for anyone else today?
Did you feel the rhythm of the rain dance?
Could you do nothing but laugh and think about love to come?
A whisper and a thrill
A whisper and a chill

    And when night comes
    and the moon is full
    do you dance your seductions
    slowly in your dreams?
Or do you make them a reality for Aphrodite's guest?

this is lovely, and the way that it's either/or, leaves a big question in the air......
....they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......

    thats a sexy poem

    "...love to come"

the other poem was nice too, but the tight shirt and skirt do it for me.

  • The rain will now have a whole meaning to me. Thanks Ali. I shall always do a raindance for you.

You mean upping visual stage directions in the theatre? No.

Going back to Greek drama, we read from Athenian commentators that visual effects were kept to a minimum on the stage, and actors stood and recited their lines wearing masks. Much later, in Shakespeare's time, people talked of going to "hear a play" (though his later plays in the Blackfriar's Playhouse used a few special effects). After the Puritans banned theatre in about 1642, and the restored Charles II brought it back in 1660, I think theatrical performance started to incorporate features of opera. Plays such as "A Midsummer Night's Dream" were largely rewritten (amazing as it sounds) over a period of about two hundred years until Shakespeare's original plays came back into fashion: These reworked versions incorporated song, dancing monkeys(!), swirling chorus lines, dance and bright costumes.

Having said that, I think acting has always involved visual discourse. It's inevitable when you put human beings together to act, that they're going to move with each other across an acting space. Even more so when there's dance and song involved.

Actually...I was taught in collage(HEEHEE)That the origins of playwrighting
started with the festival of worship for the god Dionysis and that the stage was called a skeme. But I also thought that descartes originated the movement brought forth for these festivals.I'm wrong i guess.I cant remember
who it was that started this movement in organizational patterns.

    Who believes in love-at-first-sight?

And does one necessarily need to believe in fate or pre-ordinance to belive in said love?

I dont know if i believe in love at first sight. When I tink a guy is hot or attractive ,to say, I usually approach him somehow, and kinda follow up on it.
and when a guy is nice and friendly, I also follow up.But the attraction is key for an adult relationship and having children,if you believe in that sorta thing.
I also believe that our creator has your life planned out for you and already knows if and who youre suppossed to be with-that it is fate.I've seen so many couples who just sorta "CLICK" and it looks like they fit each other.
But heres the clincher....you have to accept this in your heart to be accepting of love and have it accept you.At this point in my life,I'm ready for a relationship...but I havent quite met or "Spoken to" the person that really does it for me...even when I'm alone with myself. All in time,I guess. It takes a while and you have to be headstrong and stay on THE PATH.:)
