Sitting Sacred
Sitting Bull.
For those who have forgotten
Will never be remembered.
Hallucinate Yellow,
Hallucinate red,
The animal spirits-
dance through my head.
For legions have died
Have been foresaken
But I should ask
Who will sit
in the sacred circle tonight
and dance the dream
of America's founding fathers?
A whisper and a thrill
A whisper and a chill

I was talking to a friend on the phone the other night, and I always had the misconception that the Native Americans smoked marijuana in their sacred tents.I found out that its peyote.I just find it so interesting that in their sacred ceremonies that they still adhere to the ancient ways.I personally would love to be part of this spiritual ceremony and to see what the elders see in their hallucinations. Its just something that intrigues me to this day.
I feel as though there were malicious tribes and peaceful tribes that took part in the wars that were directed in this country in the early times of the settling west-but most were very misrepresented and lost their lives.
That poem was for Sitting Bull and his infinite wisdom as one of this country's unrecognized "Founding Fathers".
