don't forget about the wine now. We probably won't remember the black and blue and mud if we have had enough wine

true, but I don't drink, so I guess I would just have to sit and bare the pain and go thirsty as there doesn't appear to be any non-alcoholic alternative or panadol offered at this meal
Than I would suffer with you.:) (I actually drink MAYBE once or twice a year one of the foofy drinks people make fun of and not wine or beer. All of it kills my stomach.) Perhaps a different meal minus the black and blue and mud with a glass of water would be better (unless you don't drink water either). )

those are two bigs in my state
oh, I only just read this correctly now, I thought it said 'have' earlier. I thought thanks giving was in December for some reason. No I didn't have a happy thanks giving,, but I didn't have a bad one either. I didn't have one at all. but hope you Americans had a good one. What sort of things do/did you give thanks for?
Pacifier, oh, sorry I did not realize you were overseas! Thanksgiving is sort of a celebration of whatever in your life you are thankful for. I kinda do that regularly anyway when I pray. To me it is a fun time to get together with family and friends and eat too much, talk & laugh too much, and just let loose. It is a celebration however about the pilgrims so we can't forget about the historical aspect of it when it comes to educating the kids.

That's ok, we get a lot of American TV so I know the basics, you have thanks giving, halloween and proms which are apparently very important and everyone wants to be prom queen. Just wondering what you gave thanks for cos on the telly it always shows people sitting around a table saying out loud what they are thankful for. And do you guys start your school year midyear? that's weird
Ewwhhh! I never wanted to be prom queen. Seemed too superficial to me. My prom was kind of a joke, but I had fun anyway, I usually make the best of things. School generally starts around mid to late August/early Sept. here. Tell me about what you celebrate where you are and when school starts there? That is really interesting.

In Australia school starts at the start of the year. sounds logical to me late jan/early feb, after the summer holidays. I don't know what we celebrate that you wouldn't. Christmas and birthdays are the big ones. and easter of course. They're the main ones where you gather with family and friends. that's about it I think. Not so interesting now, is it?
Well, yeah it does make sense because it is summer there now. Correct? We start after our summer here. Just the fact you live in Australia is interesting! That is really cool! I would love to go there one day. One of my all time favorite groups is Australlian - INXS. Shame the lead singer killed himself, what a waste.

mmm, maybe he killed himself, maybe not. I don't know if you heard, but it might have been a sex act gone wrong.
Powderfinger (a very good Australian band) have a song called 'private man'. I'm not sure if it is about the INXS singer or not, but it certainly makes me think of him.
sorry, I'm totally off track fromt he original thread concept.
Yeah, I heard that. I just started reading an audiobiography on INXS recently. I have not heard Powderfinger, I will have to check them out. I know Bono from U2 wrote a song about him, I can't recall which one.
Sorry - me too about the off track from the thread concept...I am really bad about doing that
