Somewhere in India
A dam is in need.
A political consort,
dining upon Westwood,
would rather see his own people die.
The markets in Bombay are thriving,
for they have their lives,
out of harm's way,
as the water of the river slowly rises.
I've captured my soul,
taken a flight to the sacred grounds.
Lord Mahavir can see me rest,
as I watch the people thrive
in education,
spirit, and mind,
as a leader of countries
builds a dam
to save a million lives.
All prejudices and sins are forgiven,
for India is my friend-
my sweet salvation.

adv....12/05 PLEASE PEOPLE,KEEP YOUR EYE ON THIS DEVASTATED
COUNTRYLAND,IN SERIOUS NEED OF WATER MANAGEMENT.

A whisper and a chill

  • great read ali...
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key

I enjoyed that as well. The lines above caught my eye...has a magical feel to it.
  • The recession of key glaciers in the himalayas is estimated to likely kill a few hundred million people in India and China, but there is no global warming

Their are literally almost a billion people who get all of their fresh water from the meltwater of these glaciers

    well stated

it is so amazing to look at the change in weather patterns over the past 12-15 years. I know there are cycles, but this is freaky

Yea,ETE,but that's not the problem in the countryland of India.I can't remember exactly where I heard of this problem, but those who experience the overflow of water close to the main tributaries, experience their villages
being destroyed and people killed. In all actuality, the police are trying to escort these villagers from their homes, but theyre refusing to leave in hope that a dam might be built and they could hold onto their traditions and homes.
With the building of this bridge, their government, and hopefully ours, could shed some light on our traditions and customs, and could spread some peace
within the next ten years.....possibly the next six at earliest....

oh, i don't think 32 is a little old, and i think you probably do make a positive change in the lives of others. i read what you write, and your acceptance of others is quite a beautiful personality trait. i think you probably make a difference all the time.

i don't know about my trip right now. i've a little money put aside for it, but my brother is going to south america to help some doctors do eyecare, he's going to just help, and he may need the money, and if so, then i will probably give it to him; sometimes you have to decide to be on the sidelines, you know.

so you are wonderful and delightful and i always enjoy your posts and poems.

I don't hold out much hope for the old ways of life in India and China especially, these are two massive, massive countries trying to modernize as quickly as possible. When you look at how the USA with it's 360 million couldn't even bear the responsibility to save a single city with all it's wealth, what chance can their be for small villages among a billion people with much less money to go around. These are all the frontline casualties in the war of globalization and modernization in Asia

Yea,but,ETE,in all actuality, are we as wealthy as we think?Probably,maybe...but there is always a risk as to where you put your money and what the effects of it are going to be.Its great to think we can get the country behind us to build this dam,but there's alot of detail that goes into it.I'm sure if we built it,there would be a positive effect,if only it is reinforced.

Yea..but the thing is,if more people who read this talk about it and word of mouth turns out to be in our favor, this government or the educators of the world could do something about it.Most of the time I ramble on at work and everywhere else...you never know who is listening.Merry Christmas to you,
    by the way....:)

It's just frustrating that what the people are concerned about is not neccessarily what the government is concerned about.

And ETE, I laugh---"but there is no global warming"----Nah, no bloody way!!!!
