The one posted on this thread is nicer but I wouldn't necessarily say it sucks, I like it but then I guess to each its own.

  • I just started coming back to the board after a few months away, but am I to understand that people on this board think my morning jacket is good? At what point did this happen?

This board have a tendancy to like whatever eddie likes.

MMJ is not bad and their gig art this year has been some of the very best!

  • Dude, they just aren't good.

Or maybe you don't like them, and other people have different taste in music than you do. But that could be a stretch..

Not a big fan either, but they must be doing something right as they have hit it big in the last year. Headlining festivals and all.

Don't think that just because a lot of people like them they're good. A lot of people liked Poison once. A lot of people liked Milli Vanilli. And don't ever forget this: a lot of people liked Hitler once too. "Hitting it big" does not mean you're good, it very well could mean that a lot of stupid fucks aren't paying attention.

Its all opinion and neither of us is gonna win this arguement. I see what you are saying and I partially agree.

If I lived in Germany in 1933-1940, I would probably have been convinced by Hitler too. The guy has been declared a genious, even though his motives were of the evil kind. Look at what he accomplished and it would be hard to argue that Hitler wasn't 'good'. He was almost too good.

I don't think we should compare Hitler with music taste anyway:)

Back to music, there are tons of people out there that despise pearl jam. They think Eddie is annoying and find the music uappealing. Are these people uneducated or stupid, on drugs or mentally lost? I don't think so. I think music taste is probably as subjective as it gets. I have little understanding why people go bananas for Poison too, but they must be finding something in there that compares to what we find in pearl jam.

Well I had no idea who they were before they opened for Pearl Jam, we saw them at the Camden and East Rutherford shows on 06 and we really liked them, now we have all their CDs and their show was really outstanding here in Miami.

I'm not one to like everything Ed likes though, the opener for the 08 tour the Pharmacists guys... mmm we gave them a shot and sat through a couple of their songs but we just couldn't take it, it was definitely not our cup of tea.

I had no idea who they were either until pj hired their support. I saw them two times in Lisbon in 06 and they rocked the joint both nights. I remember hearing run thru the first time and found myself rocking out thinking it was great..

The only opener for pj I didn't enjoy was futureheads in Copenhagen. Definately not my cup of tea.
