In the days
when old hollywood
was old hollywood
and leading men were leading men
and women,children;
Trains of satin swept the aisles,
canvases of Picassos,
lipstick of Red,
and Clark Gable and Gene Kelly
would sing a tune at the piano bar,
maybe with a cigarette in hand...

Those days have gone over the Academy,
for the most part,
and passed in that lonely land
of dreams.



INDIAN TOBACCO
And in thses states,
the tobacco,
which comes from America,
burns strong on the lip.
For fire cleanses,
says the Bible,
and at this shovelboard,
some drunkards sit.
