"Journey Through the Sand"
Crushed heart in my hand
Pouring the blood all over the sand
I can see the rock n' roll band
Playing on this blood-covered sand
While my face so frail and weary
Looks at the town so dark and dreary
Screaming I cut myself with my own hands
Standing on this sacred sand
Now I'm crying cause my face is all scratched
This rotten egg's already hatched
Staring in awe at the rock n' roll band
Kneeling on this destitute sand
I am headfirst in the dust
Screaming at the world of lust
I lay lifeless and in disgust
Save me before my body rusts
While I'm laying face-first in the mud
I'm filled with hatred
And drenched in blood
I lay lifeless with an immersed hand
Crying and dying in the sin-filled sand
Crushed heart in my hand
Pouring the blood all over the sand
I can see the rock n' roll band
Playing on this blood-covered sand
While my face so frail and weary
Looks at the town so dark and dreary
Screaming I cut myself with my own hands
Standing on this sacred sand
Now I'm crying cause my face is all scratched
This rotten egg's already hatched
Staring in awe at the rock n' roll band
Kneeling on this destitute sand
I am headfirst in the dust
Screaming at the world of lust
I lay lifeless and in disgust
Save me before my body rusts
While I'm laying face-first in the mud
I'm filled with hatred
And drenched in blood
I lay lifeless with an immersed hand
Crying and dying in the sin-filled sand

Either because of the use of the word "dreary" or because of the rhythm and rhyme.
I like the rock 'n roll band imagery in that it seems to clash with the rest of the poem but in a good way. At least in my eyes.
Anyway, enough deconstructing! Thank you for posting and post again!
That rocked. Or that sanded. Either way.
Were you perhaps stalking Soundgarden during the "Burden in My Hand" video?
I really like this part! I feel like that sometimes.
Very good poem!
