Every Dog has its Day

Bark at me
Dog eat dog world
I have no place for you
I take exception to your very existence
Zero tolerance for your exploiting the young
Chewing through their innocents
As guilty as bury their bodies in the backyard
Hoping we would never expect

I’m on to you though
Your mad gnawing at the marrow of our bones
Mouth dripping at the chance
Waiting and watching for the old and sick to die
So you can feed on what they have left behind
Now your fangs stained with your own blood
You have bitten one too many times the hand that fed you

Now apathy turns to anger that is driven by fate
Fate the brings us to now
Head down, tail between your legs
Begging for mercy from those you have preyed upon
But there is not forgiveness left in their hearts

Sensing the end of your K-9 kingdom
Panting desperately for air
Feeling the walls close in around you
Heavy heart pounding to your new found fear
Digging deeply for what you have lost
Only to he the dirt pushed in on top of you
