my son left the house this morning
he refused to kiss me goodbye
clutching his football
when i asked him he said "no,
im mad at you"
i let him go
this is the boy who wouldn't
go to sleep without a goodnight kiss
why was he angry?
cause i got angry with him
he wouldnt eat breakfast
and i hated him to go hungry
i insisted breakfast was important
but he wasnt swayed
i thought of him in class unable to concentrate
his tummy growling and him watching the clock
counting down to lunchtime
my son left the house this morning
and i'll kiss him when he gets home
hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say

    cate, my little angel boy (my baby) told me the other day not to hold his hand when I was walking with him somewhere. He said: "I'm getting older and it embarasses me." :(

    (But, he put out his hand later that day.) :)

    I don't know what I'm gonna do if he won't let me hug him or kiss him someday. :eek:

    My older son is 16 now and he has never, ever, said that to me!!
