guiding light

he steps lightly and brightens her world
when the curtains come down
he is there to be her guide
she knows in the dark woods
he'll lead her through
the water falls on damp rocks
and it's all he can do
she searches with eyes closed
his touch leads her forward
with butterflies' secret kisses
and she knows that his words
teach her soul how to dance
the trees she hears breathing
the leaves talk in rhythm
when her sphere shakes with dissent
his lightness joins the two halves of the schism
her step brightens when he lightens her world
she flings back the curtains
and her guide becomes her own self
again she feels strong
and tis him that she's thanking
for knowing the fire deep inside her needed tending
hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say

    "Hear me, my chiefs!
I am tired; my heart is
    sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
    no more forever."

    all forests are chad.

tis the trees that talk, the rocks that stand sentinel, the ferns and moss that carpet the floor, the water that washes the earth clean and the dirt path that leads you through.
    hear my name
    take a good look
    this could be the day
    hold my hand
    lie beside me
    i just need to say
