why you needed the time and space to think
and what is it you’re thinking about
am i a problem to be solved
or is it something else
i don’t really understand
with silence replacing the words i used to hear
i need to say what’s on my mind
and cause I may never get to
this is where you’ll hear what i don’t get to say to you
all those words and laughter shared just get cut away
and though not that much time has really passed
the resolve i have to respect your choice wavers
but generally holds up in the end
so tell me again why it was you went away
cause i'm trying so damn hard to understand.
