gestation

she lies curled up
an in utero baby already born
she hides beneath the blankets
to keep it all out
her mind detached from reason
a pleasant hum keeps her body warm
she sighs and takes a deep breath
wills herself to stop but she cant
shed rather taste her life withdraw
than feel her mind eat itself
the scream that fills her head
commands the silent house and those who sleep
... she wish she could
hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say
