just walk on by
don't try to engage me in meaningless talk
i'll be in my own world
not caring that you're there too
cause you aren't
not in my world
no one is
no one but me
i won't want to be approached
talked to
commiserated with
congratulated
just walk on by
like i wasn't even there
and maybe later
you'll be thinking
did you see me
was it just you that saw me
was i even there at all
cause i sure as hell didn't see you
got my things i need to do
places to go
maybe even people to see
but you're unlikely to be one of them
so..
if you ever see me on the street
just walk on by
like i wasn't even there.
