and there's comfort in feeling sad
step outside
the sun is too bright
it hurts your eyes
and they hurt your insides
deny me
and blacken my heart
dismiss my being
soul destroyer
sometimes it's hard to smile
like you mean it
cause you can't fake it
as good as them
from them you can't get
what you want
what you need
they're too busy
pretending to be
like everyone else
and there's comfort in feeling sad
if not all
then at least
some of the time.
