did I see right
i saw him only for a brief instant
was it him
did my eyes see right
they said he doesn’t get out much
but when he did, he tried to hide
he doesn’t want you to see
i heard he was a legend
and I know it wasn’t just inside his own mind
they say he saw the world differently
well good for him
cause who’d want to see it the way it really was
when I heard he died the other day
it made me a little sad
though i wasn’t really a fan
but I knew his work
i know he’ll be missed
some were surprised he was even still alive to have died.
madness and genius and everything else that goes along with that trip
tired of a life he was perhaps leading too long
now on that final voyage he will be remembered
by those he touched and those he was touched by
farewell our slightly tarnished hero
