i'm diving deep
and breathing underwater
my fragile self
denied existence
i look up
and the world above
floats along without me
why won't you hear me
don't you care
aren't i worth more than all this despair

i'm diving deep
as far as i can go
my lungs burst with life
without wings
i sink below
too far down
for you to know
why won't you hear me
don't you see
aren't i worth more than this black blood disease

i'm no longer breathing
i cease to exist
can't you feel me
can't you see me
can't you still hear the screaming
aren't i worth more than just dead air.
hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say

  • What is the "black blood disease?" Is the character talking to God?
Can't you see that there's light in the dark.
Nothing's quite what it seems in the city of dreams.

no. she is not talking to God.

black blood disease is a slow coagulating and poisoning of the blood from lack of whatever the person feels they need and are not getting. no air is getting inside them and the blood thickens until the person dies. from want. from need. from lack of love and another's touch.
