it's raining it's pouring
humanity is snoring
in the middle of a drought, it rains
here today the earth, she cries out
her tears fall from the sky
to drown us all
but we turn our back, ignore her pleas
her patience wanes, she is diseased
her children give her nothing but grief
the grey clouds envelope her soul
as she weeps for us all.
hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say

Insightful. I like your use of imagery. I would recommend some onomatopoeia next time.

In my opinion, you would teabag Edagar Allen Poe in a battle of wordship.

    So anyway, I meant Edgar.

like Richard Simmons sliding naked down a rainbow
    weakified *dickshoeness

*The word dickshoe was borrowed from a member of the lou family. I can't take credit for such a masterpiece.
