i watched you
sleeping by my side
and reached out
to touch your hair
i watched a frown
form on your brow
a dream not going to plan
i bent to kiss
your cheeks so warm
to say goodbye
instead
i stopped and thought
of long lost times
and everything we shared
we were all we ever had
and now as i watch you sleep
i think of every word you said
every time you smiled
and every touch you gave me
when i began to cry
and so i think that i'll stay here
and breathe a little deep
beside you in our bed
and wait til morning
until you wake
and tell you how i feel.
