don't judge me
please don't judge me
i just want to do my own thing
be there to catch me when i fall
and i'll be your everything and more
if you'll just let me
let me
let me do my own thing

don't judge me
please don't judge me
but please don't let me fly too close to the sun
i want to be what i want to be
i want to do what i want to do
if you'll just let me be me
i'll do anything for you
anything at all
i'll be your everything
if you'll just be there to catch me when i fall.
hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say

    yes thank you. i am well aware of the legend of daedalus and icarus. i never meant to suggest they either was judging the other. the title refers more to someone flying too close to the edge and having someone who'll be there for them without recrimination. naturally i thought of icarus pushing his luck.
