no one ever stays

she just figures it's something she said, cause she says a lot you know
when she doesnt know all she can do is shrug and walk away
tis really not worth her time
if they cant be bothered then why should she
but you know there is one
he's sticking real close to her side
if he'd wanted to he wouldve left by now
an iron fist in a sometimes velvet glove
she smiles when she sees him
though an uneasy ache grows beneath her ribs
when he speaks and makes her laugh
she knows that's where she wants to be
