ready to burn

shadows hear
but
they're not listening
words fall
from his mouth
and nobody hears
draw the curtains
dead to the world
he wonders
would it be so bad
to seek extinction
to decide his time's up
he hears the screams
there's no one else
they're inside his head
messing with his mind
clouding his judgement
kicked in the side
dragged to the kerb
he's ready to burn.
hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say
