she's somewhere watching
from afar as he goes about his day
her alarm goes off and she lies in bed
listening to the radio, waiting
for a favourite song to start her day
thoughts of him inside her head
his name upon her lips, her morning prayer
she thinks of his laugh
the timbre in his voice down the line
the seriousness of his determined brow
it's not the same without him here
and she wonders what he's doing.
walking through the woods
deeper into a darkness misunderstood
she listens to the trees' conversations
giving nothing but a beatific silence in reply
she feels his heartbeat
hears the sigh of her name upon his lips
she closes her eyes pulling him closer
and knows........
this place in the middle of nowhere
is where she belongs.
hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say
