duty bound
and torn apart
barbed wire
wrapped around his heart
the beating stops
his breath turns cold
there is no love
perhaps
there never was

like a moth
trapped in a lampshade
his wings torn with desire
he denies himself
to watch her grow
his house a four walled cell

duty bound
and torn apart
barbed wire
slowly stills his heart
there is no love
there is no love
his life it slowly
turns to dust.
hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say
