I found this list interesting, although it makes me a feel little old.

Beloit College's annual Mindset List, providing a snapshot of the world view of the school's incoming freshmen, for the Class of 2012:

Students entering college for the first time this fall were generally born in 1990. For these students, Sammy Davis Jr., Jim Henson, Ryan White, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Freddy Krueger have always been dead.

32. There has always been Pearl Jam.

Complete list here:

Honestly it was a blur to me and the sad part is, I know the words when these songs come on the radio and I can't help but sing.

Extreme haha, I had a girlfriend who constenlty played that flippin "More than Words"(she had the single on tape) song over and over and over and over.

  • I also graduated in 92 and sadly I do remember life before Pearl Jam, and it sucked. But I only remember it barely...I think I've managed to succesfully purge most of the years 1988-1991 from memory. Until I read this thread, that is. Whoever mentioned Slaughter, thanks a lot. I'd successfully forgotten that.
But Pearl Jam has been with me since I was 18...I'm glad for it. They're just such a part of life that I couldn't imagine it otherwise...
  • That list is annoying- definitely could have used an edit or two.
The Clarence Thomas hearings were in the fall of 1991... and Jay Leno didn't start on the Tonight show until the Spring of 1992- so both of those are wrong.

And "personal privacy has always been threatened"?? Isn't that a little subjective? Wouldn't most people say that really started to be an issue around the time the PATRIOT act was passed? After 9/11?

There's plenty of things out there that did, actually, happen in 1990. Too bad whoever wrote this didn't seem to know what they were.

That is a cool list. When PJ is on a list like this, I believe it gives us reassurance that PJ is still relevant.

Damn, I was six years old in 1990 and that still made me feel old. Like, I can't really wrap my head around ppl who were Born in the 90s being anything but kids.
