a friend told me tonight
that he's going away
and yet again i'll have to cope
with the forced exile
of someone i care for
and yet again i'll still be alone
but this time it's different cause
i got to say what i needed
and we understand each other i feel
he's helped me through a tough time
and though my vision is blurry
i know i'll get through this.
i do wish him well
and hope that he captures
all he sets out to catch
so farewell my friend
don't forget i still care
and yes, do what you need to get done
but don't think i'll forget you
cause i doubt that is possible
