flying high above it all
she soars and swoops
and doesn't want to fall
she walked away never to return
the ash on the soles of her feet
a reminder of what was burned
today was not a good day
and she needed to be left alone
her body numb, memories unshaken
she needed his touch
no way she'll ever tell him so
she watches the crooked rain
in the spotlight below
she's not where she should be
and it's put her rhythm out
she's flying high above it all
the heaviness inside her
feels like her soul's just been bought
hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say
