a road most travelled, weary

she watched him wander, from far away, through a life he wasnt sure of
a life he saw no beginning to and a road that just made no sense
he thought of what he was doing, but nothing appeared as clear
he couldn't grasp the relevance of his breathing in any air
he wondered if perhaps it was all wrong, the way that he'd been living
yet still he couldn't understand since all he'd been doing came from within
was there a special rulebook that someone had kept from him
where all the lives were laid out with ease and where there was nothing left to hide
sometimes when he was walking he'd see her in the distance
he tried to close the gap between them but somehow always missed it
her faith it ebbed just like the tide, but she never lost sight of him
she wanted him to find the strength that she knew grew deep beneath his skin
he often doubted what it was that kept him in this life
she hoped that when his eyes were wide he'd understand it all
she wanted him to come to her but only when he was certain
that what he had was worth it all to lose himself in her embrace
she knew that sometimes she pushed him hard to find what he was missing
she didnt want to be surprised by feelings he had ignored
she told the truth and always did in hopes that was enough
for him to know the respect she had for him and how easily it could be kept
there were those times when she would have loved to excuse herself from him
but always thoughts of him appeared and she knew she couldnt leave him
hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say

wow, I really enjoyed reading this....well done...a great job of transferring the feeling/state of mind.
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key
