i see the rains have come
and washed all the spiders out
given this filthy earth a bath
and laughed at the chaos caused
a hulking orange behemoth stranded
on nobby's beach. it'll probably die there
a funeral for a family of five
swept away when the road beneath them collapsed
the creeks flow like they've not done since the last downpour
whenever that was. can you remember?
unseen frogs croak their beautiful song
the winds play merry hell with everything battened down and not.
downed live wires, roofs opened like a tuna can
drought ravaged farmers now drowning in flood
cars crushed beneath felled trees
like bugs under foot
backyards reclaimed by the ocean
you live on the edge one day youre gonna fall
dont come crying to me
its nature thats all.
like flags at half mast damp clothing hangs
unattended in the laundry
blankets smelling like mothballs get aired
wrapped around boohooing humans who are cold so so cold
hot chocolate to warm hands and tummies
children tucked into bed satiated with milk moustaches
goodnight mummy
goodnight my babies
the grass beneath my feet still sodden
my shoes squelch and i pray for more
more thunder
more wind
more lightning(though not too much)
to light up the sky
for earth to show her displeasure
she puts on quite the show
her own fireworks and timpani drums
more rain
more rain
more rain to wash the sins away
and washed all the spiders out
given this filthy earth a bath

hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say
take a good look

verry nice
I do wish I could write like that...
will ad to my favs
And I won't make the same mistakes
(Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
(And function)
Function is the key
