tears pour forth like a drought breaking deluge
drowning me… choking any ability to see straight
i gave you everything you allowed me to and still you treat me like this
is the object of the game to get me to hate you
is that what you want
will that make you sleep at night in a bed you don’t want to rest in
can you feel what you feel and still walk away promising never to return
i stand here… desire turning to anger dripping from every pore
i cant do it… i cant ignore you the way you want me to
i could tear the flesh from my bones and still you’d turn your back
you reach out, hold me so delicately, then squeeze the life right out of me
you do this and i allow it
you know why i do it…
… why do you do what you do?
why do i bother even asking knowing you are incapable of a truthful thought
you can fool yourself but you will never fool me
and i will live with every word you said and every action played
and in the end i will know that i am right... though that hardly gives me solace
and you... my once eternal flame... can go to hell.
