stretched out forever
trapped in a cage
left far behind

of people i’ve lost
of time slowing friction
a heart shaped box
a crucifix broken

did i think i’d make it
for me there was no doubt
i knew that i wouldn’t
i’d learn to live without
what i wanted most
what i thought i needed
a glittering prize
an acre just seeded
for moments in time
