i can see clearly atop my white mountain
that all that i see before me is nothing i thought it really was
getting what you need and want sometimes requires someone else
someone who wants you to have what it is that you need
but you know it doesn’t happen that way
getting what you want requires a capability on their part
to give to you what they prize the most... themselves
they cant always do that and that’s okay… it has to be
its not yours to give away in proxy and not yours to demand
to be given freely or not be given at all
lest there be no trust in the end
no debt owed and no oneupmanship
love declared just lies there to be
to grow and be built upon
to become all you thought it could be
that both of you thought it would be
