crawling out from beneath all the bullshit you dumped
i can see a brief glimmer of light, much more than i had when i was swallowed up by you
i never realised til it was almost too late just what it was you did to me
and even when i did it took me a while i got out of there before i was dead
so many things i thought i needed from you ended up being chains around my neck
i dragged myself through the mire though i doubt ive learnt a god damn thing about myself... again.
same mistakes... different antagonist... same destination... eyeball deep in it
the taste of you on my tongue is bittersweet
but i cant regret a single thing and youre always here with me

you need someone there beneath you just so you can breathe
she gave you what it was you needed and she did so with no second thought
but it came time when she needed the lift and you just dropped her in it
she screamed for you, it fell on deaf ears
she reached out to you, you slapped her hands away
do it yourself you said i cant help you and i sure as hell dont want to hear
the goodness in her, the solitary light left, flickered trying so hard to remain despite your protestations that you didnt have what she needed she chose to keep that hope alive
but then that hope, she choked on it and she had to walk away
for her soul, her heart, her life, she left what she loved and started to figure out how to love herself alone
