Stuck at the Airport

I've got more baggage than American Airlines
But I've got places to go
A destination in mind
A goal to follow

How do I get there?
carrying all of this stuff
It's weighing me down
Can I put it down?
Just let it go?
That's a hard task
Harder even so when you've got
This guilt
This angish
as a carry on.

Do I leave it here?
If I don't, am I really leaving?

Perhaps it will get lost in transit.
I burst, out
I'm transformed!

  • Great poem...such a unique subject
    Don't need a raincoat, I'm already wet..
  • omg! thats exactly how I've been feeling for quite sometime now. Like an anchor chained around your ankle while the rest of your body struggles to float to the surface so you can finally take that big breath of air you've been yearning for.
If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.

Yes, Abookamongstthemany...that's exactly how I am feeling! I also think this feeling comes from being age 25...the limbo of young adulthood...

:) Thanks for the feedback, everyone!
