Wolf Vedder

I cry loud
so i can be heard
give you
my best
in hope that you can learn
and wish for more
i'll scream until you hear me
might be a slow volume
i'll shout
i'm never going to close my eyes
so i can see
the change in your mind
taking place
and the waves will take us there
you will see my world
and find your own
with a scream
i'll give you love and pain
and you will finally understand
that i am your friend
It was a dream, not a nightmare. A beautiful dream I could never imagined in a thousand nods. I saw this girl next to me, she wasn't beautiful until she smiled. And I felt that smile come at me in heat waves following. Soaking through my body and out my finger tips in shafts of color. And I knew somewhere in the world, somewhere, that there was love for me.

  • and so you are heard,
    Sound,
    and we will all
    finally understand
    that
    a man like Sound,
    a South AmeriCAN,
    can speak his heart mind
    like a sound
    that travels through
    the woods at night
    so the birds take flight

and flying higher we can see that words
    the words
    he writes
makes us all take flight and when he does,
    we all
    under
    stand

-they say that people can only really write poetry in their birth language. the language the were raised
    UP
to speak. Sound, you vibrate us all....

    that was lovely.

    and i also say,
who the fuck was your english teacher. he deserves the peaceful poems prize for growing you in his classroom.

stars are not egocentric, just bright.
"and then, one Thursday, nearly two thousand years after one man had been nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change, a girl sitting on her own in a small cafe in Rickmansworth suddenly realized what it was that had been going wrong in the world all this time, and she finally knew how the world could be made a good and happy place. This time it was right and no one had to get nailed to anything. Sadly, before she could get to a phone to tell anyone about it, a terrible stupid catastrophe occurred, and the idea was lost forever."

From what I've seen it may actually be easier for second language speakers to write modern American Poetry, they speak more simply, they aren't burdened by extra grammer and useless words, they get right down to it because they understand the beauty they are trying to convey but not the language so they say it naturally more simple than we would growing up with it - the only thing I can think of to describe is like conveying the wonder of a child with the mind of a full grown person
