Robot Santa wants to change uniforms. But he can't!

I've been having a hard time trying to change my avatar! If I delete it, I get by default ala Pearl Jam logo of choice. When I try to upload a new pic, I get back Robot Santa! He doesn't want to leave.

I've tried a few other way's to try to get around this. Logging in/out, clearing cookies, using the way's of the force etc.. but still nothing! D'oh!

Anybody else having the same problem?

    I have been having the same problem...I uploaded a picture that did not come out good and I tried to change it but no matter how many times I delete it and upload a new picture the old picture returns!! I am stuck with the purple PJ logo for now.

    Please let me know if you figure out how to fix it.

    i cant change mine either.

    not that i dont like my photo.

    im a photog so i love ALL my photos, but i also like to be in control.

    i have NO control...grrr

    Exact same problem here, it let me upload an avatar when I first logged in and now I can't get rid of the damn thing. It's either the default PJ logo or my original avatar no matter what I do.

    D, I am there with you. The only other thing I have noticed is that my avatar DOES change in the Private Message view. So, go look at your sent PM's and you should see your new avatar. But that is the only place.

    I can't change my blurry picture either.

    1.)What I want to know is, how do you upload pictures in your sig?
    2.)And in my profile when I upload a picture it says it saves the photo (under the video clip area) but when I check back it says "picture not available yet"???

    I can help you out! :)

    Best software to use is www.photobucket.com (to save your pics, videos etc.. to).
    When so, go to the image and copy the IMG Code:

    example.jpg

    Copy the link to your sig & save.
    Try it! It should work! :)

    I've had the same problem D....tried changing it several times with no luck!!!

    I've also tried uploading to my pictures and getting the shows I have been to added with no luck either!!

    I couldn't load my shows either. Well I did start but quit when they didn't save. Decided I'd wait a bit and try later on...

    the picture in the PM has the following properties:
    https://www.pearljam.com/files/members/ ... avatar.jpg
    size: 64px x 64px

    whilst the one everywhere else is
    https://www.pearljam.com/files/imagecac ... -XXXXX.jpg
    size 100px x 100px

    seems that when you save the picture, it saves it (or delete) in
    www.pearljam.com/files/members/picture-XXXXX.jpg (and sometimes makes a copy of a smaller one: picture-XXXXX-avatar but not always, maybe only creates it when people have PMs?)
    but the code on the site is still using the imagecache one.

    shouldn't be too hard to correct (search and replace run through the script? or fix the backup procedure if that's the purpose of imagecache).

    something similar seems to be happening with the pictures we upload (they ARE saved.. www.pearljam.com/category/user-gallery/other)
