All the erotica on this board of late inspired me to dig this one up and post it.
After reading it I realized some things never change ;)

Flames

Mesmerised
climbed to the top
for the view
now
I teeter at the
copper overhang
writhing for answers
to this relentless
battle of love
wills
red rivers
materialize in the
dusty wind
strike the peace
of this setting sun
slipping behind the
earth
like orange sherbert
sliding down your
throat
sweet and frozen
like me
cannot escape
livid memories
drawn out by
your voice
sheer joy
coupled with
viscous sorrow
even
high court Jesters
couldn't bring a smile
upon this lifeless face
but
it's the heart I fear
has been lost
in this magical fight
between
Warrior of Peace
Warrior of Light
Warrior of Love
post a sign
draw up a plan
mark the territories
rigid black lines
dig
into my flesh
carving out shapes
like a puzzle
scattered across the
warriors table
so in their spare time
they can amuse themselves
with
figuring me out
challenging where
each piece should fit
one was a painter
painted the universe
on my
legs
stomach
breasts
one was a guitarist
played to me from behind
his terror
with a soulwrenching
chill
sung about my faults and flesh
right to my face
never the less
love was his claim
the painter?
made me his life
for a short time
absorbed me
into
his soul
till there was no room
for
love
cowardice was his claim
the one I
wait
paitiently for
has asked for
eternity
then gratuitously
disappeared
into the midnight air
wafted away like
a vision
just as he came
lighting up my
spirit with his
flame
water consumes
my soul
and
I wonder
if he too
will
eventually
drown

On speed-reading, "viscous sorrow" is the most perfect description of post-coital tristesse I've read in a while. Are you really this good at writing? Those two words say more than some people's entire careers on the Internet, including mine! Maaaaan. :)
  • Stop it your making me blush! And PUHLEASE - you are most admired by this girl. I adore your work. Not to mention this one needs someserious editing. I am supposed to be going through roughly 300 some poems for publishing. I have to pick the ones to submit for editing but I get so sick of reading my own stuff it's taking me FOREVER. It's much more fun to play guitar and sing in dive bars
